Under MOOCs

Establishing and running JNTUK's Massive Open Online Courses initiative.

• Coordinated Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for all JNTUK Colleges during July 2015 – April 2018.
• Obtained a free Vidyo link from the NIC, saving almost ₹20 Lakhs per annum towards AMC of the JNTUK-Vidyo Server.
• Established an AP SWAN Video Conferencing System at JNTUK (first time at JNTUK).
• Customized MOODLE to build the JNTUK Learning Management System (JNTUK e-Medha).
• Integrated Big Blue Button to embed live video within the LMS.
• Improved the LMS web interface; developed a dedicated website and mobile app for JNTUK E-Learning.
• Created the JNTUK YouTube Channel for distributing class videos to all students.
• Maintained JNTUK's own server hosting jntukelearn.in, jntukelearn.in/moodle and jntukdmc.in.
• Coordinated the NPTEL team visit to JNTUK; the NPTEL team appreciated JNTUK's MOOCs and proposed collaboration to offer free MOOCs to affiliated colleges.
• Collaborated with IIT Bombay to offer free, industry-oriented MOOCs to affiliated colleges.
• Coordinated the AIU Vice-Chancellors' Conference, MOOCs Workshop, OSI Seminar, and Aadhaar-based biometric awareness workshops.
• Attended numerous video conferences alongside other university administrators.
• JNTUK MOOCs received appreciation from the Central HRD Minister, UGC and other officials.
• Arranged a JNTUK stall and participated in discussions at the FICCI Higher Education Summit 2016, New Delhi.
• Arranged a JNTUK-IoT stall during Krishna Pushkarams 2016, receiving appreciation.
• Published a paper for the AIU-University News Special Issue on the occasion of the 91st Annual Meet of the Association of Indian Universities.
• Designed the University's first MOOCs brochure, receiving appreciation.
• Provided day-to-day coordination and technical support to all participating colleges.
• Improved MOOCs audio and video quality.
• Created Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest accounts for JNTUK MOOCs.

Digital Monitoring Cell (DMC)

Established in 2017 to maintain and monitor JNTUK's IT infrastructure — the University surveillance system, network and firewall, e-office support and virtual meeting infrastructure.

• Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. G V R Prasada Raju launched the University Surveillance System, the JNTUK DMC website, the JNTUK e-Ticket App and the JNTUK E-Medha website (LMS) on 28-10-2022.
• Installed 66 CCTV cameras for the University surveillance system, with the monitoring unit housed in the VC's chamber for quick review of campus activity and recording.
• Procured and configured the University firewall; managed the DHCP server with VLSM, MAC binding, IP reservations and bandwidth allocation, and monitored University-wide internet usage.
• Established an E-Studio for MOOCs at the DMC Video Conferencing Room – used for content creation and delivery, live streaming, recording, and animations/simulations.
• Shared 150 Mbps internet from the University to UCEK, saving almost ₹22 Lakhs per year.
• Developed the JNTUK Digital Monitoring Cell website (www.jntukdmc.in) to bring all apps and tools together in one place.
• JNTUK e-Ticket (jntuketicket.in) – a ticketing tool for receiving and monitoring daily DMC and WDC service requests from all university offices.
• JNTUK E-Learn & e-Medha (jntukelearn.in/emedha) – since 2016, a total of 20 MOOCs delivered by experts from the USA, IITs and industry; around 28,406 students joined MOOCs across five semesters.
• Developed "JNTUK e-Medha", a university LMS capable of hosting and running courses; with 42 students, 900 hours of sponsored content were uploaded with free access for all constituent and affiliated colleges.
• Provided a 200 Mbps internet facility to the Alumni Auditorium from the University server room.
• Established an E-Classroom for ICT-based teaching and online class access.
• Procured and installed face biometric machines for attendance of adhoc and outsourcing staff.
• Established a wireless PA system at the VC Conference Hall for uninterrupted online and offline meetings.
• Provided technical support to all virtual meetings related to JNTUK.
• JNTUK-Computer Clinic – training students in system/network troubleshooting, testing and repair.
• JNTUK-eWaste – collecting condemned systems, printers and UPS units; separating reusable components and routing the remainder to recycling units.
• JNTUK VR / Augmented Lab – establishing a VR/AR lab and training faculty to use AR/VR content in teaching, including virtual tours of University units and departments.

• JNTUK-eAudit – locating and listing all University devices (systems, printers, biometric devices, access points, modems, switches) with RFID-tagged e-stock books.
• JNTUK-Hackathons – conducting hackathons on Cyber Security, Mobile Apps, Web Apps and IoT.
• JNTUK-eShare – connecting office printers with desktops and laptops, and enabling shared folders.
• JNTUK-eLab – a 100-system e-learning lab for ICT training on conferencing tools, animation, cloud, surveying, Moodle/LMS, audio/video editing, and AI-based tools.
• Establishing a Lab on Security and Forensics (LSF) to offer consultancies, research, certification/diploma/M.Tech programmes, and act as a Skill Development Centre.
• Training programmes for teaching and non-teaching staff in computer literacy and cyber security.
• Workshops and boot camps on open source tools for students, faculty and research scholars.
• Cyber security awareness programmes for school/college students and government employees with CDAC, CERT-In, TCS and the Data Security Council of India.
• Technical quizzes, competitions and summer training programmes on computer literacy for government school children, as part of CSR.

Web Development Cell (WDC)

Established in 2021 to provide day-to-day support for the University website – publishing newsletters, calls for applications and events.

• Developed portals for DMC, Director Academic Planning, Research and Development, IQAC, NSS, ECOSAK, Biotechnology and Food Technology.
• Developed "JNTUK E-Ticket" – a ticketing tool to receive and monitor day-to-day DMC/WDC service requests.
• Developed "JNTUK E-Medha" – a University LMS capable of hosting and running courses, with future scope for mobile app integration.
• Actively involved in revamping the JNTUK website.
• Providing "E-Office" day-to-day support for all University officers.
• Coordinating JNTUK-Infosys Springboard activities and WDC services to other University units (in-house projects).
• Director Academic Planning (jntukdaaportal.org) – colleges enrol data and pay Common Services, Application & Inspection, and NOC fees via an integrated payment gateway with role-based admin access.

• JNTUK e-Dispatch – a mobile app for faster, barcode-assisted communication management between directorates.
• Senate Hall + Alumni Hall occupancy app – check availability and book halls in advance for events.
• Virtual library page – a landing page linking staff and students (via LAN) to in-house and external information sources.
